want to buy a iPad mini brand new but am not sure if i do it will come with 8.1.2 or if it will come with the newer firmwares installed. i would really only want it if i can jailbreak it. has anyone bought a new iPad mini and have had 8.1.2 installed? i will most likely be buying one this weekend. wish me luck and any input would be great. thanks

I bought a 32gb Space Grey iPad Mini 2 late last month and it came with iOS 8.0.2.
I somewhat expected the setup process to update it to the latest iOS but it didn't. It runs quite well on 8.0.2 so leaving it as is for now.
You could ask the store how old their batch of Mini 2's are. If they received the stock before iOS 8.2 was released then you have a very high chance of it having one of the older iOS versions.
