After enabling pile view, on my desktop have appeared a couple of "folders" icons that I can not remove and whose purpose I can not understand.

Can anyone please advise what are these and how to remove them?

They overlap with the other icons, hiding them.

Thanks for helping, dan

in the finder, under view.... is 'Use Stacks' selected? turn that off. the icons with arrows are aliases, pointing to an actual file. you can click on any one, and hit 'command-R' to find the file itself (aliases are just 'pointers' to something).

Use stacks is not selected. The yellow circled icons named "Cartelle" are not aliases and it is impossible to click on them. Not only, if I go into Finder->Desktop I do not find them.

What are these? How can I remove them?

Thanks, dan
