So RoomPlan is the recent addition to ARKit.

This tech quickly allows scanning a room via new iPhones that have LiDARs. It also scans the furniture, so you can get a complete and accurate room plan.

I’m just now learning of it. I happened to see another mention of it in a comment. I don’t know if it will be any easier, accurate or faster than the existing apps in the App Store but it’s nice to see Apple finally giving the LiDAR sensor something else to do.

I think amateur interior designers or real estate companies (and casual usage like seeing if your bag meets a size limit at the airport, before you get to the airport) will get the most use out of this sort of thing.
