It allows the Phone app to use cellular data but most like Phone doesn’t use cellular data... if it does, you should be able to see how much data it has used up over a period.

The topmost toggle, Cellular Data, controls the LTE modem for sending and receiving data for the apps on your phone. Sending and receiving data is different from making voice phone calls.

I wonder if it might be tied into Visual Voicemail, ie. restrict access to wifi only?

So if you were using a VPN, would it be a good idea to have this on or off?

Are you using it via your cellular/mobile connection or via WiFi?
Cellular, wondering weather having phone toggle on or off is better using data.
VPN works regardless, but does it affect privacy/protection?
Settings>Cellular>Phone

Unless you have something like a WiFi connection turning off cellular data would leave you without a data connection to use the VPN with.

What about this? What does it do and if turned on or off does it tie up with the VPN connection?
