iPhone 14 Pro Max What exactly are the camera upgrades from 14PM to 15PM

I remain a little unclear on this. Is the sensor in the main and UW cameras the same as last year? Are those portrait upgrades and change the focus point after the fact features only software features from IOS17? Apple was a bit vague about the camera / photography improvements and which features would work on the older phones.

New portrait thing is indeed sw-related (not sure it's coming to previous phones, knowing apple, I highly doubt it )

Would be a completely dick move from Apple, since the regular 15s are getting this feature, and everything required is in the hardware of the 14PM (unless they're saying only possible due to A17). But yeah, its probably going to be what they use to differentiate.
