What game would you recommend?

A friend and I have been playing runescape online for some time and we have finally become tired of it. I would appreciate any recommendations on good fun games we can play online just against each other without having to pay a subscription fee. it could be any type of game. It also doesn't have to be necessarily online like Runescape(Java). I really haven't looked around but I wanted to get your peoples opinions first. Thanks in advanced!

If you looking for a good strategy game i would recommend anything from blizzard (other the WOW) such as starcraft or warcraft 3 both are very good and are alot of fun to play against each other. Command and Conquer 3 from EA Games is suppose to come out sometime this month for the mac and is also a great strategy game. If you are looking for a shooter i would recommend Call of Duty 2 it is also free online.
