I have an iBook G3 with a faulty logic board. What would Apple do if I went to the Store and complained enough about it?

They would tell you to go pound sand.

But really, how old is this thing? It sounds like it may be old.

Here's the deal. If it is out of warranty but purchased within the last 3 years I personally would tell you to buzz off if you thought you were getting a free replacement. Fact is you could have bought AppleCare. They sell it for just that reason. If it is within the 1 year warranty then they will most likely repair it. If it is outside both of those then they will be happy to take it and give you a quote. They accept major credit cards, cash, and some have accepted personal checks.

I guess the squeaky wheel may get the oil but why? Do you really believe Apple should do anything?

Yup.

The computer is the 900 MHz, made in early 2003. I bought it from macofalltrades.com in November 2007. I can fix it myself, but I was curious if I could possibly get a replacement.

hah i am going to be honest, i really hate people like you, trying to scam things out, usually i explain that thats waht extended service is for and in they start to act out i just call the police to escort them out. I cant tolerate people like you, nothing personal as it is a forum, but really thats a terrible thing to do.
