What would you think if you received this email?

Well if you thought it meant you'd get a year free of Apple TV+ you'd be wrong. Apparently it's just a bait and switch advertisement. Nice one Apple.

How so? I got that email a couple weeks ago because I got a new iPhone 11 Pro Max at launch. I clicked the link and got my free year of Apple TV+ on launch day.

I have an XS Max from last year...I'd heard that some users were getting retroactive free one year trials but apparently just rumors. Strange that Apple, who knows which devices I own, would send an email that clearly states that we get a free year. It should instead read "IF you purchase a new device..." and I was shocked that when chatting with support they just said, "yeah, it's just an ad sorry."
