iPhone Whatsapp: disable paste as sticker

I've noticed that for a few days, when I paste a screenshot into a WhatsApp chat, it automatically converts it into a sticker. It's an unnecessary and inconvenient feature, especially since stickers can't be enlarged; previously, you could easily paste the image.

There have been two updates since I noticed this, but nothing has changed. It happens on both iPhone 12 and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

There are no options in WhatsApp to disable this annoying feature, but perhaps there's a workaround. Any ideas?

The only workaround I’ve found so far is avoid pasteing and using the Share feature.

It’s annoying as Hell.

Apparently it’s a bug that should be fixed in the next update. Really hope so!
