It was inevitable…
It was unsustainable…
The writing was on the wall…
The exponentially growing user base…
The “boutique“ brand for creative professionals, is now dominated by soccer moms…
Customer service reps now can only recite support documentation…
Clearly, their sole purpose is to serve as a buffer between support specialists and the never ending avalanche of buffoons who locked themselves out of their iCloud accounts…
I’m surprised it lasted as long as it did…
Damn you Steve, not everyone should be on the Internet…

Yeah, I just decided to give Apple a call, so I could ask a senior engineer the super important question of “Yo, when da iPhone 15 gone be released?”, and to my surprise, they were closed. 😳 Yeah, the machine said they closed at 10 PM.

When did this happen? The last time I called Apple was in 2018 to get help debugging a kernel panic. Was it something they introduced during corona and just stuck with it?

This really sucks, especially when you own like 12 devices with AppleCare+, but I totally understand it. We completely burnt out Apple with nonsense like “My name is Timmy and I’m, Um… where can I find a legendary Pokémon?”

Believe it or not, I actually worked in this job 7 years ago, so I know the pain and suffering they have to endure… But it wasn’t all bad. My favorite question was “How much it is to fix glass?” That one never got old. For whatever reason, I thought it was the most hilarious thing in the world when people would ask me how much it cost to fix glass before even telling me what device they have. So many times I felt like asking them “what size is your window?

Yeah, looking back I should’ve probably done that on my last day. Now that I think about it, there should be a designated holiday for phone reps and specialists.
