When the baby arrives

Given the new abilities of the newest version of iTunes, when my iMac arrives will I be able to safely copy my iPod library to iTunes? I see a choice to copy purchases from the iPod... wonder if it does it all... Can anyone who just got a new unit fill me in... thanks...

AFAIK, you can only put songs ON to the iPod using iTunes.

There are several programs around for taking them back off though. Look at iPodLounge...
