I got mine on launch day at my local unfriendly walmart.

Waited 12 hours. A good time.

Best Buy a week after launch. Waited like.... 20 minutes or something.

Gamestop, in the beginning of February. My friend told me there was 2 there, so we both went and got them. No wait at all. We just walked in and out within 10 minutes.

Walmart last Friday! I was calling around to see who had them, the girl said they just got some in a half hour earlier, so I went over and picked one up

What about folks who buy 'em via other routes? I had a Wii for awhile that I'd gotten from an MRer actually. That said, the other place I had made offers was Craigslist.

Gamestop. Walked right in a couple weeks ago and they had plenty. Almost bought one in Thailand before then...they have tons and tons of them sitting around but the Japanese import would only let me download Jap VC games...

Edit-Also picked up a 2nd and 3rd for friends of mine. Those were both at gamestop.

I got mine on Launch Day at Best Buy, I waited hours to get it.

Woke up around noon one random sunday, made a few phone calls and drove 45 minutes to the not-so-local EB games and got it around 3:00pm.. this was February sometime, and most people aren't so lucky.

Gamestop in mid April, I walked in after checking a bunch of other stores, and they had them. No wait or anything. A guy walked in while I was paying and bought one as well.

I got mine from Toys 'R Us. It was a small store than didn't get that many customers and they were the only place I could find that had any in stock.

Target on Launch Day...waited about 10 hours.

Waited about five minutes, but it was just a matter of being at the right place at the right time.

got lucky... i was in arizona for the bcs national championship game in january. we were just killing some time and popped in to a toys r us. i didn't see any but figured i would ask and see if they had any. the girl working at the counter was like "oh yeah, we got about 5 in the back". i replied with "i'll take it."

Toys R Us about a month ago. No waiting. 5 or so in stock after me (I was there about 30min after they opened).

From HMV about 6 weeks ago. Everywhere else was still out of stock, but HMV were taking reservations, so it took about a week from the time I ordered it.

It was hell, but looking back I just laugh.
