Based purely on performance/power/usability/lifespan, which one of the below 13" MBPs is the better option:

2016 3.3 GHz dual-core Intel Core i7 CPU, 16GB Ram, 512 GB SSD
OR
2017 3.1 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 CPU, 8GB Ram, 256 GB SSD

Tnx in advance!

I'd say it depends. Do you want to watch 4K streams and/or movies?
If yes I would suggest the Kaby Lake since it supports H.265-Codec with 10 Bit native acceleration and decoding.

Except that, there wont be any reason to go for the 2017 model. I doubt the Iris 650 will be much faster than the 550.
The 2016 model you are referring to has 16GB of RAM and the better i7 CPU.

Anyways tough question. Only you know if you gonna need those 16GB of RAM.
I guess the i5 vs i7 doesnt matter that much. You wont notice any real difference.

If they are priced equally and you dont watch 4K Netflix or movies go for the 2016 model I'd say. 512GB SSD. 16GB RAM. GG

I have the 2016 model. It easily meets my expectations beyond what I expected and couldn't be happier.
