With the future of the SE models being uncertain, I came across the old 5C and ever since I like it.

Would you prefer a polycarbonate body over the current glass & aluminium?

I’d go for glass front and back with aluminum sides, just like the current. Overall design is a whole other story. I’d make it like the Mini series.

Aluminium backplate with maybe a glass center for MagSafe.
I hate the glass backs since they started but I love MagSafe.

The polycarbonate 3GS and 5C models were probably the nicest iPhones ever to actually hold. I wouldn’t mind a plastic iPhone if it was well built.

The iPhone 5C ended up being nearly 20% heavier than the original iPhone 5. And thicker too.

Al with glass please.

Team iPhone mini here, hoping for more attractive, recyclable, reasonably-priced goodness down the road.

I think whatever it’s made of now is fine. I feel it needs the 8+ shell more than anything else. Fat chance of that ever happening though.

I think the "C" idea that the 5 tried had something going for it. It isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I think it's a little cute. And definitely more durable... scuffs instead of cracks. It was like an extra mini case, so if you put it in another case it was practically invincible.

The problem with the C was that it was overpriced. I think it was basically an iPhone 5 in a plastic shell for the same price. Absolutely ludicrous to charge that amount for what amounts to a high quality budget option. The C didn’t become popular until carriers slashed the price of the contracts as no one was biting to begin with.

Oh yeah, I forgot that it was the same price. Maybe it could be around $100 less or so if reintroduced today
