I am trying to set up Siri on a iPhone 7 I have just acquired but it doesn't seem to acknowledge when I say "Hey Siri" when am trying to set it up.

Everything else works i.e FaceTime, Voice notes, Whatsapp.

Any clues ?

Not sure which microphone it uses but do you have a section in the settings where “hey Siri” is switched on? That might be worth checking as well.

Siri listens to the microphone in the earpiece, rather than the main microphone which is used by those other apps. I found this out when I refurbished an iPhone 6s and had misaligned the top microphone when I replaced the screen.
