Why not Tiger?
Anyway, what do you want to use it for?

For any real practical use in the modern day, you probably want a Linux distro not macOS. And even then "practical" is perhaps an exaggeration. I have a G4 in my closet as well, and I've got Tiger on it. It runs pretty well, aside from anything at all to do with the internet...

Late 2003 iMac G4 is a USB 2.0 model, which can be upgraded to 2GB RAM. Still a very nice Mac with Leopard.
