I just created a child iCloud account for my daughter. She does not yet have an Apple device, but we’re probably getting her the SE watch with Family Setup.

I added a profile photo to her account and can view it from my own iCloud settings (I’m the parent/organizer).

If/when she has the ability to send iMessages to friends (most likely from the watch, not an iPhone), will her friends see her profile photo, too?

For standard iCloud accounts you can go to Settings -> Messages and configure “Share Name and Photo.” You can disable it, set it to Contacts Only or set it to Always Ask.

I’m not familiar with Parental Controls, but I imagine that’s a high priority setting they’d allow you to control.
