why are as admin installed OTF-fonts only for the Admin-user available?

Hello forum

Installed OTF-fonts as the Admin-User like the following:


-> locate the font-file(otf) to install

-> Right click (ctrl + click) on the font file(*.oft) to install

-> select "Open With"

-> Select "Font Book.app"



Surprisingly after rebooting the mac and log-in as a different user, the newly installed fonts are not available/selectable from within applications, e.g Pages


What I am doing wrong?

Do you have an idea why /users/admin/Library/Fonts is visible/accessible from within the cli/Terminal but not
from Finder (even as admin)?

2.
Why does Finder-search not return any result(search-term: name fo the newly installed font) (even as admin) ?

Probably wrong permissions, root set as owner, that kind of thing. Easiest way to fix it is to delete the folder (sudo rm -rf ~/Library/Fonts), clear font cache, reboot, then install the desired fonts in /Library/Fonts/.
