I have a first generation iPod touch (Model: A1213). It is running 3.1.3. I am trying to backup it on my Mac which is running iTunes 12.9.5.5 and I am on macOS Mojave 10.14.5. iTunes does not let me back it up. It is all greyed out.

Whilst I am trying to make a backup, I am also interested in extracting my Notes and transfer them in my iCloud Notes. Is there a way to do that whilst retaining all the metadata? I do not want to recreate the Notes. I want them as I have made them in 2008 and later. There must be a way to merge the Notes from my iPod touch and my Notes in iCloud.
