¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Hello

Today I did a full backup of my iPhone in preparation for installing iOS 16.

When I connected it to my Mac Pro (running High Sierra) Photos opened and transferred 2000+ images and videos that hadn't been copied over before.

After the backup was done iTunes decided to sync the phone too, which caused iTunes to transfer back all those 2000+ images and videos. That is a slow process over USB 2...

Why does this happen and can it be prevented?

It seems obviously completely unnecessary to transfer data that has just been copied over in the other direction.

Thanks in advance
Philip
