It seems strange that AirPrint isn't an option when using a Mac and an AirPrint-enabled printer on the network. It seems like all of the advantages of easy wireless printing for novice users would translate to the Mac well and deliver on Apple's promise of easier computing that "just works"?

This occurred to me when I recently purchased a new printer and had to go find a downloadable version of the drivers because my MacBook Air doesn't have an optical drive to run the disc. Not a big deal for me to find and install, but I can't say the same for someone that specifically buys a Mac because they are afraid of these kinds of technical items.

Apple should just cut through the crap and eliminate the print manufacturer's software altogether.
