iPad Why power adapters have 2 prongs?

Instead of 3? I can't find a 3 prong version anywhere.

Is this thing ungrounded? I read that only 3 prong power adapters are grounded.

Yes, the 2-pin Type-C plug is ungrounded. It is compatible with a Type-N wall socket.

The main reason for wanting a grounded plug is if you can touch anything metal on the outside of the device. The ground plug usually grounds the metal of the case/internals to protect the user. Since the power adapter is plastic and there are no exposed metal parts, this is not a problem.
