That's pretty sick. I think its time to upgrade my router to a 6E device... I was thinking of switching to the FIOS 1GB plan which includes a 6E router from them.... This may have motivated me to make that move, thanks!

If you can, reject a router from your provider. The monthly charge is outrageous. The firmware updates nonexistent. We have fiber, we paid for the little signal box to convert the fiber optic signal. Own our own router. Sure is nice having that low monthly fee with no BS addons.

You should not do that. The routers are just showing up and the prices are high and the results are mixed. Waitbit on that
Not to mention that it’s not fully adopted by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Many of the current WIFI 7 routers might be missing some features when this format is fully finalized.

Are you using the Bell GigaHub as your router, or are you using something different? My wifi is a bit spotty in some parts of my house, so I'm debating on using the Bell Pods hardwired back to the router or using a different mesh setup like Eero.

What router does everyone have, AND how big is your home? I currently have an Orbi router not on 6e and they want almost $2k for a 3 mesh system. I have a 3700 sq ft. Home and it’s long more so than wide, so I need 3 units to make sure the whole house gets sufficient WiFi. I have 2kgb fiber but wire most of it to get the benenfit.

I’m getting the same speeds on my 6E router. The problem is my router uses a different SSID for 6E and because of this my Apple Watch keeps having connection issues if I’m out of bluetooth range and the watch can’t switch to the 6E SSID as it doesn’t support the band. So I had to go back to WiFi 6 SSID.

My 1100 square foot apartment gets a consistent 915mbps (my fios is 1gbps) on my phone. Impressively fast.

Can anybody help me figure out how to take advantage of these speeds?

I have a iPhone 15 pro and my router is an Asus RT-AX82U. Features list says it has WiFi 6. Is that what I need? Or do I need something that is for WiFi 6E?

I have my phone connected to the 5G band but I’m only getting around 300 mbps 🧐

It’ll need to be 6E specifically.

What speed is your broadband? Make sure you have 160MHz channels enabled if that router supports it.

Nope, I have an Asus ax86U and get over 1100Mbps downloads, just need to make sure you have 160Mhz channels enabled.
The most impactful difference is that Wi-Fi 6E devices use a dedicated 6E spectrum with up to seven additional 160 MHz channels while Wi-Fi 6 devices share the same congested spectrum — and only two 160 MHz channels — with other legacy Wi-Fi 4, 5, and 6 devices.
