Yes, the linked article is right, you´ll need to grant access privileges for Adobe apps.

To prevent crashes in Adobe Illustrator CS5.1 on exit, you should rename:
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CS5.5ServiceManager
to
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CS5.5ServiceManager.bak

If Illustrator is not displaying all fonts under Font Menu:
Open: "System Preferences" -> "Accessibility" ->"Display"
check the box that says "Reduce Transparency"

I could not get Photoshop CS5 to run on Mojave. I had to get CS6. I still have CS5 running on El Capitan ha.
