All iPads Will mobilevids.org work on tv thru hdmi cable?

Hi
I'd like to connect my ipad mini to the tv thru a lighting to hdmi cable to watch videos streamed through mobilevids.org. I've heard the cable doesn't always work for certain apps and I was wondering if anyone can confirm whether it works with mobilevids.org thru oplayerhdlite app or not before I spend €49 on the cable??
