I have a couple old ipods that I would like to wipe all content off and sell. there is settings and reset - but no choice to erase content
1 - ipod model mb263ll - i gb
2 - ipod model mc297LL 150 gb

how can i do this?

The iPod won't automatically sync with the library after a restore. It loses the association to it.

Still, you can make a backup of your library's XML by going to File > Library > Export Library...

iTunes was designed to have multiple devices syncing different things at the same time though.
