I am wondering how long Ventura will be supported for. Just got my 2017 MacBook Pro, which is supported in Ventura, but not Sonoma. It appears that Ventura will do everything that I need it to do, and since it does not have a port to use a wired internet connection, and only has usb c ports.... wondering if I would be better off keeping it on Ventura since it is supported in the event something goes south badly. Just wonder how much better keeping it on supported Ventura, instead of using OCLP and installing Sonoma is.

Apple usually support the 3 recent versions of Mac OS.
So currently 12,13,14.
When the new os (15) is released in September, you will have (in theory) 12 months of updates before 16 is released.

It kinda looks like Ventura has the same features that Sonoma does as well. Wonder what is different, besides the beautiful wallpapers in Sonoma?

I have Sonoma running on two of my other older mac's, my late 2009 iMac, and my mid 2010 MacBook Pro and it seems to work ok on them, the 2010 MacBook Pro does get hot though, doesn't seem to overheat.... but fans are at least on constantly and some websites do indeed cause the fans to ramp up considerably. Facebook is one of them, but Facebook has always seemed to stress the systems. However since it looks like Ventura has most of the features that Sonoma has, and actually one program that I use for work actually runs perfectly on Ventura.... I am leaning on keeping this 2017 MacBook Pro on Ventura, at least for now.

especially since the battery has 782 cycles on it and appears like it still will provide me with at least 4 hours of battery usage easily. Been using it now for 2 hours and battery still has 75% remaining.... that is totally awesome.
