iPod Would putting a 2000mah battery in an iPod Classic be prolonging the battery life more that the stock battery?

It should, I think the original batteries are only 450mAh. The aftermarket batteries can be variable in real capacity, though, so it may not last as long as you expect. What you can actually fit inside the iPod will depend on whether you have replaced the disk drive with microSD or similar, and whether you have a thin or thick case back.
