iPhone XS Max Xs max front camera question

Apple says the Xs Max takes 1080p HD video with the front camera.
When I watched some videos on youtube, they showed that when you open the camera app and tap on video.. there should be an HD on the top right? Just like it says 4k when I turn it to back camera.
I realize it shows 4k because I selected that in the settings, but I don’t see any seperate setting options for the front true depth camera?
Can someone please help? How do I set the front camera to record video in 1080p HD?

Select either 1080p HD at 60 fps or 4K at 60 fps in settings and the front camera automatically switches to 1080p HD 60 fps.

I was wondering, why won't the front camera shoot in HD in other settings.. for ex. 4k at 30fps?

i dont think he is saying you need to choose 60fps, but usually people will just shoot at the higher fps. while it is highly debatable if 60fps gives you a smoother video, shooting at higher fps gives you more flexibility. you can slow down the video considerably more without sacrificing as much smoothness when playing back. as such, if you can shoot at 60fps, then why shoot at 30fps at the same resolution, unless you are concerned about file size.

I understand. But my question is... when I select anything other than
1080p at 60 fps or 4k at 60 fps, my front camera wont show HD for video (in the upper right hand corner)?

In other words... The front camera on my Xs max does not shoot in HD unless I have either 1080p at 60 fps or 4k at 60fps? Because I don’t see the HD in the upper right hand corner?

according to wikipedia this is a definition thing. HD is usually defined at 60fps or more in US. it doesnt make your video less clear though

I’m so confused? When shooting video with the front camera, it will only display HD on the top right corner if I shoot at 60 fps... but if I shoot at any other setting, it’s still HD even though it doesn’t say so?

He was just giving you an example. It will shoot in HD if you choose a HD resolution.

what is the purpose of your videos?
