Anyone here able to run XWindows (Xfree86) on OS 10.1? Just curious because I'm getting weird keyboard errors when it starts to boot...then it suddenly quits.

If anyone wants a screenshot, I'll post it.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the link, but it didn't help.. :( Here's what I get...

<quote>

[a55face:/Users/anthony] root# startx -- -quartz

Running in parallel with Mac OS X Quartz window server.

XFree86 Version 4.1.0 / X Window System

If the server is older than 6-12 months, or if your hardware is
newer than the above date, look for a newer version before
reporting problems. (See http://www.XFree86.Org/FAQ)
Operating System: Darwin
Display mode: Quartz

Fatal server error:

Quitting XDarwin...
giving up.
xinit: Connection refused (errno 61): unable to connect to X server

When I log in as >console and try running it directly from Darwin, it just sits there with the spinning cd/beachball thing while accessing IOKit. Same thing with my roommate's computer (he's got a Pismo running 10.1). I'm gonna see if my friend can come over and help me out. If anyone else is having this problem, I'll post the solution if you're interested.

I did find a solution to my problem and I'm going to post it whether anyone likes it or not. It's helpful, and for future reference, at least the info will be kept in the discussion forum for further reference...

Anyway, here's the site where I found the information:

There's a ton of stuff on this site...

Check it, yo.
