For the last two days, a colleague was mentioning her Firefox was defaulting to search Yahoo, when her preference was Google. Checking her settings, her search was set to Google, and using the search bar I noticed a redirect.
A search went from Google, through something called mps.eanswers.com, then to Yahoo. I ran a Malwarebytes scan which found nothing and researched the issue, and was pointed to "Safe" branded extensions. Sure enough, I found a dodgy sounding Safe Browsing extension.
After removal, searches went back to Google and all seemed well.

Posting this because none of the results I found were about macOS, so perhaps this is a new issue.
