FP3 was interesting, looking forward to quali in a few hours.

Yes it was, and will be. Ferrari still has a couple tenths left for Quali IMO. I don't think Lando is holding back. Oscar is quicker, IMO.

Max was on the same pace as Lando before Sergio binned it. If he can get in the top 4-5 for the start it should be a good race.

Then again, all this goes out the window if it rains. The forecast is looking like the rain will hold off until Monday now....

Agreed. I think we have a race on our hands. it is too early to say whether McLaren/Ferrari will have race pace as well. Red Bull seem to have adjusted the car for Max, although I don't think they have extracted everything out of it yet.

Agreed that I think both Ferrari and McLaren could challenge Red Bull for pole.

And K-Mag to be hauled before the stewards again. Could Bearman be in the car for qualifying and the race?

Max on pole again. Best driver, so I really should not be surprised that even when he struggles he still pulls it out. He has now tied Senna for most consecutive poles at eight. Now to see how many more he can score in a row starting with Monaco next week.

Piastri P2 and Norris P3, but Piastri is under investigation for impeding K-Mag in Q1. If he is penalized I will riot.

I do believe Ferrari has the best race pace. They were faster on Mediums than many others on Softs so even starting 4th and 5th, I think they will be able to stay out longer on those tires.

Both RBs in Q3.

...And Mercedes the model of consistency. I'm sure the upgraded did something, but development still behind Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari. Aston Martin seems to be doing Aston Martin things - start off hot with show of promise and slowly falter as the season goes on.

Without question. The best by a significant margin. I’ll be the first to admit I didn’t see this result. Nice record in the books as well. Fitting it was on this weekend. I still think tomorrow will be a good race. I think Oscar will be ok.

I should learn to never underestimate Max.

Another pole for Honda Power. 😉

I think we are going to have a fun, eventful and exciting race. I'm curious to see actual race pace. Really good to see McLaren and Ferrari getting there. My guess, no 30s win for Max in Red Bull. I suspect it be a more moderate 8s but they don't have big margin to place with, no room for mistakes.

Piastri, just wow! That chap is so impressive.

Perez crashing and then placing 4th out of 4 red bull drivers.
Is this the start of what felt like an inevitable nose dive in form again?

I think it was just a bad weekend for them. Alonso wrecking the car in P3 meant the mechanics had to scramble to put his chassis back together and he lost a full hour of setup time.

What hurt Aston last year was a slower cadence of upgrades and those upgrades actually making the car worse. Their technical side is a fair bit more robust this year than last and they had a full set of new-spec spares to rebuild Alonso's car so hopefully they will prove to be more consistent in both upgrade cadence and performance.

3 Grid Penalty. I didn’t see how he could have moved quicker in the first corner.

More penalty inconsistency.

Perez was probably trying a bit too hard, but the wind has been catching everyone out all weekend so that could have played a role, as well.

It has but not everyone else stacked it and they weren’t in what’s overall the best car. With the gap being smaller there’s no way they can continue with him next season.
Even if max won the title again I think they will soon start losing a constructors to red bull or McLaren.
I’m not saying that will happen this season but the day is coming.
