Hello everyone

I have seen a disturbing trend on macrumors and from macrumors moderators.

In any discussion on Apple posts certain members start demeaning Asian countries like India and China, Like how they are not developed their income is less and all sort of demeaning comments. Macrumors mod never remove them.

Whereas on the other hand if someone starts being critical of Western countries Macrumors moderators are quick to flag those posts as political and remove them.

Why this general bias ? is it an elitist hangover of the 20th century ?

Somewhere over the rainbow
We don't care about whether a criticism is of a Western or non-Western country, so any pattern you feel you have seen can be chalked up to whether or not we know about a given post. We can only consider posts that we actually are aware of.

The only issue that's important for us here, is whether or not 1) this type of comment is in the correct forum section (Political News), and if it is, then 2) if it's on topic to the thread discussion.

If you feel you see a pattern of trolling from specific users, report one of the posts and explain that you feel there's a pattern. We will then take a look, sometimes over time, to see if we also see a pattern.

If you have reported a post and are surprised by the moderators' choice in whether or not to moderate, send a question via the Contact Us form. If you do that, we start a review process. The administrators (not the moderators) are then responsible for taking a look at the moderation that was done and making a decision about whether it should be supported and explained to the user or overturned/changed.

Bias is allowed in only certain sections of the site, unless you are talking about Apple of course.
