can a few people here reply to me and tell me if their iPhones are clearing their diagnostic data ?
you connect your iPhone or iPad running iOS 8.xx to iTunes.
you have your iPhone set to automatically send to apple.
you have your iPhone also set to share with app developers.
once you sync or backup your device to iTunes, it is supposed to transmit the logs and then remove them from the iPhone
my logs are not being removed. and its the same on both devices.
i asked the geniuses and 3 of them said it stays on the phone, i think they are wrong
is this how iOS 8 works now?
does iOS 8 now keep logs on the phone for a fixed amount of time?
can you please try
sync and backup your iPhone to iTunes
afterwards go to
settings
privacy
diagnostic & usage
diagnostic & usage data
that screen should be empty.
but my devices are keeping those logs forever. i got stuff from 8-18-15 when i last erased my iPhone
clearing iPhone and iPad console logs and erasing all my backups didn't help
i had over 17 gigs of logs on my mac. (iPad and iPhone logs only)
i think ill try doing a fresh iOS install. if people say their iPhones are normal
I'm pretty sure i already tried the fresh iOS install , because i had to get rid of iOS 8 beta.
maybe i have a internet problem and it can't reach the diagnostic server , so the stuff stays, i don't know
