fax software

Is there any free fax software that will allow me to send a fax over the internet? I'm hooked up to the net via my school's network, so it's not like I can dial a land line directly. That is, I don't think I can. I have FaxSTF, as provided lovingly by Apple, but is there any way I can use this app or another do send the fax w/o a land line connection? Thanks!

I doubt there are any since internet and phone networks are disjoint.
