For the 'lower cost' one, they can probably get rid of the front display that's only used to project a (creepy) image of your eyes for other people. (Though I wish with the current model it could illuminate your surroundings a bit so you can see where you are going in the dark.)
But yes I want a real USB-C port (wired headphones, ethernet, devices, data transfer to Mac etc. There's already a developer strap with a USB-C port (replaces right strap) that can probably do all of this, but it's not hooked up to do any of it now (and it should be under $100).
