Does this version support iPhones that can update to iOS 17? Or is this the start of security updates for the iPhone X, 8, phones that cannot update to 17 etc?

This version is for iPhones that cannot be upgraded to iOS 17. Here is the Apple Developer website description:

Showed up on my 14 Pro and iPad Pro 11… so…
Presume it has support for new accessories and stuff that were officially launched today.
Since my battery is back to okay not complete rubbish in 16.6.1, I ain’t touching this.

Thank you. So much for the Apple Developer website. Perhaps I misinterpreted the above information on it. Good to know we may get some bug fixes.

Are IPSW's for this release available for newer devices upgradable to 17 like the iPhone 13? I've tried searching and it appears this update is only available for the devices not getting iOS 17

If I remember correctly, iOS 14.8 is offered as IPSW while iOS 14.8.1 is only OTA

In this case, iOS 16.6.1 is offered as IPSW while it's possible that iOS 16.7 is only OTA

iOS 16.7 has been rock solid on my iPhone 14 Pro. Fixed several bugs I had - such as bad keyboard delay when accessing passwords in settings. It’s instant now.

Very glad to hear this! How did you update to that version? OTA via beta profile? I can't see the IPSW anywheres. Thanks

For devices running iOS 16.4 or later, go to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates and choose the Developer beta to install this software.

The last iOS 16 RC available for A12 Bionic devices and later via IPSW was iOS 16.6 RC while iOS 16.7 RC is only available as OTA... You can download the iOS 16.7 RC IPSW for A11 Bionic devices...

I just checked this after I signed up for developer access on https://developer.apple.com

Yes, I have the iOS 16 Developer Beta selected under Software Update and got iOS 16.7 offered OTA.

Not my case, I have an iPhone X and since I've update to 16.7 RC camera and flash are not working at all 😭😡🤬
