Is there a posting delay for new members?

I created a thread, but when I tried to leave a reply I got the message:

This message is awaiting moderator approval, and is invisible to normal visitors.​

Is there a "breaking in" period for members? I've been a member for awhile, but haven't been active or posting until today.

Gotcha, makes sense. So I’m assuming new based on post count not new based on join date?

Hi. I have the same question (regarding automatic approval). I get the point of blocking spambots etc, but … after 10+ posts it should default to 'okayness', no?)

I would echo the original posters question. 5 year old account, but few posts. Most of my comments go through without a problem; however, posting a reply to a comment made in a thread I started should not require moderation.
