Mac Studio M1 Max - No 4K/120hz on TV

Connected to TB4, I can't get 4K/120hz on my Sony TV. When connected to my mini PC with the same cable, I can get 4K/120. I know the M1 Max can do an 8K/60hz but how come I can't get 4K/120?

I don't think the M1M is going to do anything better than 60hz regardless of the cable or the monitor.

Side note - this is why I was perplexed a year ago when folks kept saying a Promotion version of the ASD was about to be released. Very few Macs at the time could drive it.
