The "About Mac" page has also gotten a redesign in Ventura - more focus on the device, instead of the OS:

The thing is though that sometimes things will be 'roughed in' to a beta release just so they are there but are (hopefully) going to change in the final release. Features are added and sometimes removed in final released products because who knows, but it happens. It would be strange for it to look that much different than prior shipped products, but who knows...

It's beta...

I used "Storage" tab from time to time, did it get moved somewhere else?

'Moving the cheese' is what makes new releases so much fun... 'Where did they move 'x'?' Oh, and my favorite: 'Why did they move 'x'? Because they can? Seeing long lived screens hiding deep in Windows 10 was funny. Why bury it? 'Because they can'(TM).

Definitely a nice little throwback to pre-Lion Mac OS X. This is Tiger running in QEMU. The resemblance is uncanny!

As for the storage component, that has been moved to System Settings > General > Storage (mirroring iOS).

As you can see we have been through

  • about this computer
  • about this Mac

I will never understand the love for the modern flat non-design. This looks so much better! Just look at that X graphic. It's so beautiful. Also the buttons have a design, not just some rectangle.
People understand how form and function interrelate with each other on a hardware level, and how Apple hav lost their way on this over the past number of years. I would argue software also has a similar form and function relationship.

The new MacOS delivers (mostly) with function but totally fails with form. I say mostly, because as we all know better form does make for better function.

I really don't like how much is missing from the new About interface, hopefully this will be something they continue to iterate on thru the betas.
