Is there any reason why macrumors doesn't have a marketplace?

MacRumors does. You have to have at least 250 posts and have been a member at least 6 months.

The MacRumors rules mention this.

There is regular traffic in the Marketplace, although there isn't a sale every day.

Looks like you just tipped over the 250 post requirement and it usually takes the servers some time to notice. Give it a few hours and try again.

More than 2 years later, he didn't reach his goal yet. The commitment is amazing though!
