The Story from Reuters

MySpace is looking into breaking itself into the TV show selling market, which to me makes absolutely zero sense. Am I the only one mildly and unhappily shocked by this, or did no one see it coming?

And sponsered by Burger King.... ugh.

For some reason, this really doesn't surprise me much.

MySpace has gotten so huge, that people who already have high-traffic sites just tell everyone to go see their MySpace instead. :p I've even heard ads where instead of telling the listener to go to X web site, they tell them to 'check them out on myspace.'

Myspace.com is the most popular online site for personal space, especially for young people within the 18-24 demographic and is owned by one of the worlds largest media corporations, NewsCorp.

Now why would myspace, home to millions of Fox viewers, want to sell Fox shows through a free medium owned by investors to both?
