Is there any noticeable improvement on iPhone 14 Pro camera with IOS 17? There is new HEIF Max format and I guess people are using that format.

This is my question also. I’m still sitting on 16.7.2 with my pro and wondering if the new HEIF 48MP photo format is worth updating for. I like taking the 48mp raw but they take up so much space and wondering if the 48mp HIEF format looks any different from the 48mp raw format I currently have on iOS 16.

One is in ProRaw Max and the other is in JPEG Max (iPhone 14 PM). The Raw file comes in at 30mb and the JPEG comes in at 5.6mb.

The iPhone 14 Pro does not take good photos of Christmas lights. Some colored lights in the tree in the background blows out the camera. Those are not white lights. I think my earlier phones did a better job. I’m not expecting SLR quality but at least not blowing out the pictures because of some lights.

Anyone have any suggestions to overcome this issue?

Thanks for any thoughts.

You need to tap and hold for focus lock and then reduce the white balance.
