Possible to quote specific person in an edit?

I screwed up a post yesterday, and tried to fix it, but couldn't' figure it out. I know how to quote without referencing a specific person, but can't quote a specific person if their name and quote wasn't already in the post.

Quote it again in a new reply - without sending.
Switch to 'raw mode' and copy what you need to paste in your original reply - in 'raw mode' again.
Or whatever it is called.
IIRC, if you quote a person in an edit without them present in your original post, they don’t get notified.
