I recently switched my PSN account to passkey-based logins. It's pretty easy to use once the setup is completed.
After I added the passkey to my iCloud Keychain and enabled it on PSN (using an iPhone), logging onto PSN from my PS5 is a simple matter of scanning a QR code, generated by the PS5, on my iPhone. I like the added security and no longer having to use 2FA when logging in.
