Removing a window title bar with Resedit?

Has anyone tried using ResEdit or another resource editor or patch to remove the title bar from an application's window?

I'm also looking for a hack, tool, utility, extension or system resource to make my menubar translucent or replace its background with a graphic.

If anyone has a way to do either or both, I'll be extremely grateful!! :)
