Received my new iPad Pro 11 this morning.
I have a 16.5 BU
I have a 16.6 BU
I have a 17 BU.
Or maybe copy direct.

Decisions decisions decisions decisions.

Bugger. None of them worked.

16.5 failed half way thru.
16.6 and 17 both failed with a "Failure to re-enroll"
Direct copy failed with a "Failure to re-enroll"
These are MBP backups, not iCloud.
FYI - the Transfer or Reset iPad - Transfer failed also.
It is not my day

Guess it is going to be a setup manually.

More to come ...

So, I did a fresh iCloud backup and all looks well.
Tried to do a transfer from old iPad to new iPad and am getting the dreaded Error 2002.

Really?

sigh ... Manual it is.

One last try ... as they are 90% the same, I restore from my current iPhone 13 ProMax backup.
So far that is working.
Not sure what is wrong with the iPad backups.

That is interesting, from a backup, irrespective of the backup layout, it dropped all the stock Apple apps on page 1 and four widgets.
Why can't it just do a simple restore.
Bugger.

Seems obvious to me Apple is intentionally leaving out local backup feature to be abandoned and no further maintenance. Otherwise why so many errors?

With that being the case, updating iOS back to public release from beta without restoring from backup also no longer works.
