SL installer graphics issue

Hello, I have a 2008 Mac Pro 3,1 with original Nvidia 8800GT graphics card. Trying to install Snow Leopard and after the Apple logo and spinning wheel I get a fragmented initial screen. Tried 10.6 (10a432), 10.6.4 and 10.6.7 installers, both on dvd and usb, same problem. Boot Rom version is MP31.006C.B05 and smc version is 1.25f4. It can boot into Mountain Lion, Mavericks and later installers just fine. Could you please suggest a solution?
