It did not sell that well or had parts problems relating to Intel that created too much service center requests.Confused by 2023. They only made the Macbook 12 until 2017??
macOS Sonoma, that will come out around Halloween will not support any Macbook 12".Yes I understand that to an extent and thank you for the above. I have an M1 but comparing Macbook 12's against themselves to figure out which is the best 12" model to get long term.
I found this website which is good for comparison...
Compare Macs
It came across to me that you wanted to buy a Macbook 12".Not sure where Sonoma has come into this... you are talking about software.
Perhaps Im not being clear: I have a 2017 i5 Macbook 12 and am wondering what is the best Macbook 12 config you can get. I think it is a i7 / 16gb Ram / 512gb (2017 of course). I am trying to confirm this so I know which one to search for and purchase.
I will run Venture on it as I already do with my 2017 i5 Macbook 12. I have no intention to run Sonoma on it, it probably won't be able to cope. I have Sonoma installing as we speak on my 2020 M1 MBA.
Hope that clears things up.
Why not get another MBA M1? Amazon has a brand new one for $703.99. Scroll down near the bottom and click any of the "$799" to show the lower price. Thanks for the above and especially the link.
Not worried about the keyboard, I literally use my MacBook 12 at home for surfing the web, watching Netflix and simple tasks. I do most of my "work" and typing on my M1 MBA. Cheers.
That faulty Butterfly Keyboard and pitiful 14nm Intel chip makes me wish I never bought that 2018 MBA Core i5 and just waited for the 2020 MBA M1.Hmm… I tried to sell my 2017 MacBook m3 16 GB / 256 GB to a local used Mac shop and they didn’t even make an offer, not even a low ball.
They cited the Butterfly keyboard and the single USB-C port as the main issues.

Can you message me with a pic and details on this carry sleeve please?
Im still looking for a 2017 i7 (ideally 16gb ram / 500gb HD) in case anyone is looking to sell theirs (or similar spec?).
Im finding I'm using mine more and more in the genuine Apple carry sleeve (Navy). It really is perfect for simply web browsing, emails, and everyday Mac use.
I have the same leather sleeve bought when I got my gold MacBook 12 in 2015. Still love this thing and the form factor. Here is a pic of the Apple 12" sleeve. I got it from eBay at a fantastic price, I think there are still a few on there.
Ps for anyone interested the charger is a Vatuud magnetic charger, which basically brings MagSafe to my Macbook 12 and for that matter all my Apple devices with one charging wire.
I have a Lightening adapter for my iP13 Pro and USB-C adapters (as pictured) for my Macbook 12, MBA M1 and a whole host of other items such as wireless headphones and portable battery packs. Honestly it's so much easier than faffing around with 4/5 different wires.

WTF 😂I'm still using a 12 MacBook (M3 16/512) for ultra potable LR 6.14 photo edits.
I carry it around in a spendy Waterfield Designs bag that was made specifically for that model. Scored the bag used off eBay years ago
