what are some of the requirements, i was told by someone that works there that it is not realy age it is more along expeirence, does anyone work for one and can tell me what i can do. im only 15 and tunring 16 in about 2 months

Anyone working for an Apple Store should not be posting on these forums because it is against policy.
Also, I would imagine that apple would require their employees to be at least 18 years old.

Just know a general sense of Apple, its computers, and its software. Beaware of the company you are working for i.e. how passionate Mac users and Apple itself can be about the products they bring.
In the application though it does ask something about being 18. I dont remember what though (no I'm not an employee just speaking from the jobs i've gone through).
I believe your best bet would be not even knowledge of the products but just how you portray your love for macs. Everything else can be picked up on the way, but a true and genuine love for the company that is able to spread to its customers will be your way in.

I have a question
I plan on applying for a job at the apple store near me. I am in school right now and going home for the summer this year. Should i go down to the apple store before i leave school (i.e. in the next two weeks) and let them know i am interested or do i wait until about 2 weeks before college starts up again and then go inquire about a job?
If i went down now that would be about 3 months before i could actually work.
Any insight is great.

I was 16 and applied at an Apple Store here in MI and received a phone call asking me to come in for an interview. I only applied for the heck of it, I lived 45 minutes away, so it wouldn't be economically feasible. It's rare that anyone under 18 works there, but it IS possible. I had talked to a mangaer at my Apple Store, and he said that you only had to be 15 with a broad knowledge of Macintosh computers, which for me is no problem, but I have no trasnportation yet, otherwise I'd work there. Then again it may vary depending on what area you live in.
I would love to be able to work at an Apple store part-time (just a couple of hours a week). It would be wonderful to be in a room surrounded by the latest and greatest Apple technology and helping people out.

Be aware that if you apply for a job "just for the heck of it", when you already know it's not something you're going to say yes to if you get the job, you are probably ruining your chances of getting a job there in the future. I hire in my department, and every time we have a job opening, we get enormous amounts of applications. It takes me days to sort through them and choose which ones to call in, and if I discovered that someone had wasted my time, I would not be happy.

Mac genius get paid between 15 and 24 an hour depending on the area and skill level.

I have no means of transportation, if I did I'd totally apply at an Apple Store. I'd first start off at best buy to have that prior experience so I have a greater chance of getting hired.

I would love to work at an apple store but the closest one is 30 minutes away on a good day- I'd be spending half my salary on gas 9 bucks an hour sounds a lot- and it is for a high schooler, but with those darned taxes once you get out of the part of your life where your parents basically pay for anything, it's not a huge amount

No, working for $9 an hour and having to spend half of that for gas is not worth it. Perhaps Apple will eventually build a store near you, then you can work for them.
